Below is list of local businesses offering discounts to active and retired members of the armed forces on Veterans Day, Sunday, Nov. 11 and Monday, Nov. 12. (Veterans should plan to present a current or retired military ID card, a veterans ID card, a VA Healthcare ID card, a driver’s license with a veterans designation or other proof of service):
- Applebee’s will offer free meals for Veterans & active Duty Military on Sunday from among eight fan favorites.
- The Charleston Museum will admit all active duty military and veterans free on Sunday to the Charleston Museum, the Joseph Manigault House and the Heyward-Washington House with valid ID. The Joseph Manigault House will have a special celebration on Sunday with self-guided tours and activities in the garden from noon–5 p.m. During WWII, the house was used as a USO post and Red Cross training facility.
- Chili’s will offer veterans and active military members a free meal on Sunday.
- Cracker Barrel will offer all military veterans a free slice of Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola cake. (Dine-in only.)
- Dunkin’ will serve veterans and active duty military a free donut of their choice with no purchase necessary.
- Golden Corral will serve any person who has served in the US military, including veterans, retirees, active duty, National Guard or Reserves, a free meal Monday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in its Military Appreciation Night.
- Great Clips will provide free haircuts on Nov. 11 or a card for a free haircut to be used at a later date. Non-military customers who purchase a service at a U.S. great Clips salon on Veterans Day and get a free haircut card to give to a veteran you know. Haircut cards are redeemable until Dec. 31, 2018.
- IHOP will give veterans and active military men and women free Red, White & Blue Pancakes on Monday.
- Little Caesars Pizza is offering all United States Armed Forces veterans and active military a free $5 HOT-N-READY Lunch Combo at participating stores nationwide on Veterans Day from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
- Panera Bread will salute those in uniform with free meals on Monday at its five locations in the Charleston area. To participate, service members and veterans need only wear their uniform or show their valid Military I.D. or discharge papers at participating Panera Bread locations. The complimentary You Pick Two meal will be honored all day on Monday the day after Veterans Day, and includes a combination of any two half portions soup, salad, sandwiches, flatbreads, or mac and cheese.
- Publix will offer military members, veterans and their families a 10 percent discount on groceries on Sunday (proof of service required). This offer excludes prescriptions, alcohol, tobacco, gift cards, lottery tickets, postage stamps, and money services.
- Red Lobster will be offering a free appetizer or dessert to veterans, active-duty military and reservists with a valid military ID on Sunday and Monday.
- Sport Clips locations will offer free haircuts to active duty military and veterans (with valid ID) on Sunday.
- Wild Wing Cafe will serve a free meal to veterans on Sunday with proof of military service.
