RECAP: 9/11 Heroes Run – Sept. 11, 2021

On Saturday, Sept. 11 a record number of participants – 1,411 – and over 3,000 spectators gathered on Daniel Island to run, walk and cheer on participants at the annual Travis Manion Foundation 9/11 Heroes Run. The event was full of patriotism and hope with participants dressing in costume and some fire fighters running in full uniform. One participant finished a 100-mile fundraiser walk using the Heroes Run to complete his goal.

Travis Manion’s sister gave a heartfelt speech about the goals of the Travis Manion Foundation and the sister of a 9/11 victim gave a heartfelt speech about the service men, women and first responders who gave their lives 20 years ago.

iCRYO Daniel Island gave away free facials and leg compression therapy to the runners to help with muscle recovery. Hunter & Cush emceed and DJ Tantrum from sister station 99.3 The Box provided the soundtrack to get runners and walkers hyped to participate!

Scroll on to see photos of some of our favorite memories from the day.

Thanks to all the race participants and sponsors who came out to help us honor those who have served our country.
