Robert Heyward, Jr. (aka: DJ Rob) has been in radio since 1991. In 2001, his radio dreams brought him to Charleston to manage on-air promotions for WPAL 730AM. Rob stayed with WPAL for three years before he was recruited to the Star team by Michael Tee in 2005.

As Promotions and Social Media Coordinator at The People’s Station, DJ Rob now creates promotional clips for the Steve Harvey Morning Show and all syndicated shows, including the Gerald McBride Old School House Party, Diggin’ in ‘Da Crates and Sunday Night Slow Jams. Rob also manages the Star 99.7 Facebook page, alerting the community about station events, hip hop entertainment news and Charleston-area news. You’ll find him out and about at all station concerts and events or doing what he loves: DJ-ing old school parties.
