Each summer, along with playing league games, the Charleston RiverDogs host summer camps for children, and put on the annual Legends in the South charity softball game, featuring former Major League Baseball players, to benefit the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital. The RiverDogs Assistant General Manager, Ben Abzug talked about this year’s contest and provided all the game details. Abzug explained why the game was a benefit for the Children’s Hospital, and the team’s commitment to local charities. Additionally, he spoke of the culture of the RiverDogs in terms of community involvement, and how they provide opportunities for staff members to align the team with their causes.

With the important South Carolina Primary Election Day this Tuesday, we revisited our conversation with the Voter Education Outreach Coordinator for the South Carolina State Election Commission, Syndi Bain. Bain explained what this primary is for, and how it differs from the Presidential Primaries from this past February. Bain discussed where people could vote and explained what individuals need to bring to the polls. She also shared voter registration info, including the deadline for the November election and the website to go to learn about voting in South Carolina.
