To start 2026, the Charleston Animal Society has scheduled two major events as fundraisers. Kay Hyman, the Senior Director of Community Engagement, set the line-up for Pup Bowl # 9, the adoption event at the Mount Pleasant Towne Centre the afternoon before the Super Bowl. The event is based on a football field set-up and animal lovers getting the opportunity to adopt puppies participating in the game. Additionally, Hyman shared the details on the upcoming “Paws in the Park” fundraiser on Saturday, March 23 at Charleston’s Brittlebank Park. This event also revives the Animal Society’s long running “Chili Cook-Off,” along with featuring live music and multiple adoption stations. Hyman provided listeners details, including how to get tickets, for both events.

For the third consecutive year, the South Carolina Stingrays are hosting a “Women in Sports Night” at the North Charleston Coliseum. The Stingray’s SVP of Corporate Partnerships Kerri White shared the details on this year’s event, which will focus around a panel discussion featuring women from multiple areas of the sports industry in and around the Lowcountry. Along with providing the identity of the members of the panel, White provided some background on previous year’s discussions and how these individuals will make themselves available to attendees. White also shared her own personal experience as a woman in the sports industry, sharing her journey from the Toledo Mud Hens, to the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Stingrays. Additionally, White provided the timeline and ticket information for Women in Sports Night.
