Hoofprints in the Sand is a unique Lowcountry non-profit that uses equine therapy to assist veterans and other individuals dealing with PTSD. Sarah Lustig is a nurse who founded and runs the organization and explained why horses are the ideal animals to help. She spoke of the challenges of PTSD since it is an “unseen” disease and how that complicates things for both the individual and family members and those around that person. HITS 3rd annual Denim and Diamonds Gala is Saturday, April 25th and Lustig provided details on the event including how it will help the organization, what would be going on at the gala and where people could purchase tickets. HITS lead volunteer supervisor Molly Neumeyer added in the assistance needed for the gala as well as discussing all of the volunteer opportunities with the organization.
