Diabetes, COVID-19 & Best Practices for Wellness During the Pandemic
Diabetics are more at risk for developing COVID-19 due to their compromised immune system. And, as Dr. Thaddeus John Bell explains, “Diabetes is a major health issue in the African American community, particularly for those of us who live in the South, and particularly South Carolina.” Today, Dr. Bell shares best practices for diabetics, including:
- Eating the right things and and avoiding overeating
- Meeting with a diabetic educator
- Exercising 3-4 times a week
- Getting your A1C blood test at least 2 or 3 times a year
