With the Star 99.7 “Nominate Your Idol” contest, you have the opportunity to win a pair of tickets to the show. Simply tell us, in 50 words or less, who your “Idol” is – someone who has made a positive difference in your life. By sharing the story of your “Idol,” you can win tickets to see an American Idol – Fantasia, thanks to Star 99.7.

Contest Rules:

These are the rules governing the “Name the Idol in Your Life” contests aired on Star 99.7 radio and on the star997.com website, unless otherwise specified. In the following rules, “Star 99.7” means Charleston Media Solutions, which owns Star 99.7 radio:

  1. No purchase is necessary to enter any Star 99.7 contest.
  2. Beginning at 12:01AM on Monday, February 3, 2025 and continuing through 11:59PM on Friday, Feb. 28 individuals can log on star997.com and enter, once time during the contest period, the “Name the Idol in Your Life” contest.
  3. An eligible entry into the contest will include the name, address, phone number and email of the person entering, as well as the name of the individual they consider “The Idol in Their Life,” and, in 50 words or less, why that person is their idol. All of these elements must be included in the entry for it to be considered eligible to win.
  4. On Monday, March 3, 2025 at approximately Noon, members of the Star 99.7 airstaff, including but not limited to Savannah J, Geno Jones and Stephen St. James, will select one winner from all eligible entries. The winner will be decided on the quality of the up to 50 word explanation of the entrant’s idol, as decide by those judges.
  5. The decision of the judges is final.
  6. At least three (3) attempts will be made to contact the winner by phone and/or email within 48 hours of being selected. The winner will have 48 hours to respond.   If the winner does not respond, a second winner will be selected from the remaining eligible entries.
  7. The winner will receive two (2) floor seats to the Friday, April 4, 2025 Fantasia concert at the North Charleston Coliseum, 5001 Coliseum Drive, North Charleston, SC 29418.
  8. Each ticket is valued at $125.00.
  9. The tickets will be emailed to the winner to a valid email address the winner provides.
  10. Charleston Media Group cannot be held responsible if the concert is postponed or cancelled.
  11. The winner must adhere to any and all Covid-19 protocols in place at the venue.
  12. To be eligible to win any prize on Star 99.7 you must not have won anything on Star 99.7 in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.
  13. Anytime you call the Star 99.7 studios you assume that your call will be broadcast or recorded, and you grant us permission to broadcast the call or record it for later broadcast.
  14. As a winner of a Star 99.7 contest your voice, name and/or picture may be used for promotional, broadcast, or internet purposes without any compensation to you.
  15. Prizes awarded are not redeemable for cash. No prize is transferable. No substitution for a prize will be made at the request of winner. Star 99.7 reserves the right to substitute a prize of similar value.
  1. Star 99.7’s sole responsibility will be to award the prize. Star 99.7 will have no further responsibility in connection with the prize if the prize winner, for any reason, cannot or decides not to use any of the prize.
  1. All winners of all contests are responsible for any and all federal, state and/or local taxes on prize awarded. All winners of a prize valued at $600 or more will be required to complete the appropriate tax forms at the Star 99.7 studios prior to claiming prize. All winners will be sent a 1099 MISC federal tax form if in one calendar year the prize value of all prizes won exceeds $600.
  2. In the event the winner is subject to or the subject of any order or legal process issued by any governmental agency having jurisdiction over the affairs of the winner (i.e. garnishment, child support order, judgment, lien, and the like), Star 99.7’s delivery of the prize to the official representative of the governmental entity claiming a right to the prize shall be thus deemed as (Star 99.7) awarding the prize to the winner. Star 99.7 shall be entitled to rely in good faith, upon any documents presented by the representative seeking to collect the prize in lieu of the winner. Star 99.7 shall not be liable for any claim by any winner for damages incidental thereto.
  1. All Star 99.7 contests are open to all eligible residents 18 or over (unless otherwise specified) living within 75 miles of station transmitter(s) and must not have won anything on Star 99.7 in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.   Contestants must possess a valid form of identification bearing the picture of the contestant acceptable to Star 99.7 that will be presented to Star 99.7 and accepted before the prize is awarded. Employees of Star 99.7, Charleston Media Solutions, and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one-hundred mile radius of the Star 99.7 main studio are not eligible to win any contest. Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is a current legal guardian.      All contest rules are available online at www.star997.com/contests.
