“If not me, then who?” That was what Travis Manion left with his family as he embarked on his final deployment to Iraq. The Silver Star and Bronze Star with Valor awardee was fatally wounded while aiding and drawing fire away from his teammates. His courageous acts allowed every member of his patrol to survive.

Saturday, Sept. 16 be a part of the 2023 Charleston 9/11 Heroes Run. This 5K on Daniel Island is more than just a 3.1-mile run. The goal of the 9/11 Heroes Run is to unite us in never forgetting the sacrifices of the heroes of September 11th, and the wars since: veterans, first responders, civilian and military members.

The Travis Manion Foundation proudly presents 9/11 Heroes Run nationwide.   Register to be a part of the Lowcountry 9/11 Heroes Run today.
